During the 1990s, Barbie’s wholesome and old-fashioned aesthetic lead to declining sales (as well as stiff competition from Bratz ) and her career-specific line of dolls wasn’t appealing to the sexed-up modern pizzazz of her competition. The doll spawned a multimillion-dollar franchise, with collectable sets, games and, you guessed it, film and TV spin offs. Girls growing up wanted Barbie dolls, with the goal of the marketing ensuring that those same girls would want to be Barbie no matter what she was, a horse rider, a surgeon, an astronaut, whatever. Her pink branding and style-obsessed appearance, whilst harmful now, was considered the norm for decades. First appearing in 1959 the fashion doll quickly became a staple of worldwide ‘girl culture’. The two may have possibly made up following their harassment by the Mall Cop.Mattel’s Barbie needs no introduction, of course. Raquelle goes so far as to lie about her feelings towards Barbie to prove to Summer that she is the better friend. Raquelle and Summer dislike each other, as seen throughout the course of Mall Mayhem.She sarcastically comments on Midge's finicky needs in Perf Pool Party because she thinks Midge is in love with Ken. ![]() Raquelle acts indifferent towards Midge.She has yet to fully interact with Teresa and Grace. Raquelle and Nikki dislike each other, with the latter character seemingly being the only one who notices how mean Raquelle can be.She is the more clever (or devious) sibling and will often use her brother's crush on Barbie as a method to get him to do things for her. Raquelle has an unrequited crush on Ken and, in a number of episodes, attempts to prove to him that she would be a better partner then Barbie.Ken is Raquelle's crush. Raquelle envies Barbie's relationship with Ken and his friendliness and often tries to show to other characters that she is better, and usually fails.Although she can be over-confident, Raquelle is a big coward and sometimes gets scared over the littlest things. ![]() Raquelle is also quite obsessed at times and tends to stalk people often, mainly Barbie. She has attempted numerous times to take down Barbie but always fails, as many schemes are shown throughout the episodes. ![]() She is also a very selfish and arrogant person, always trying to take the spotlight and causing drama. Raquelle is passionate, driven, and knows what she wants, often reigning in Ryan to help her with her plans. Her signature outfit is a golden coat with a white shirt and a black, frilly skirt. She is the same size and body type as Barbie, allowing her to borrow Barbie's clothes as needed. Raquelle is a fair-skinned young woman with long wavy black hair and brown eyes. She also wouldn’t mind stealing her boyfriend, which seems to be her biggest motive. She dreams of catching her Malibu neighbor in a fashion fail and posting the pics on the web. The only thing to put a crack in her diamond sheen is Barbie. She is exceptionally self-centered and loves looking at herself more than anything. For Raquelle, excess defines her posh lifestyle. ![]()
